Moving home in Riyadh or Jeddah usually comes down to two questions: how big a truck do you need, and who is going to carry the furniture? A closed-box Dyna answers the first for most households, and loading helpers answer the second. This guide explains which Dyna suits a studio, an apartment or a villa, how helpers work, how the price is calculated and how to plan a move inside one city or between the two.
On WusoolX every Dyna is booked with a driver, and you can add up to four loading helpers in the same booking. You see the price before VAT, the VAT and the final price before you confirm anything.
Which Dyna suits your home move?
Household goods are bulky rather than heavy. A sofa set, beds, wardrobes and a few dozen cartons fill a truck long before they get close to its weight limit, so think about space first and weight second. WusoolX offers three Dyna types that work well for a home move:
- Dyna Dry 5T: a closed box that carries up to 5 tonnes and protects furniture from sun, dust and rain.
- Dyna Dry 6T: a closed box that carries up to 6 tonnes, for larger homes and heavier loads.
- Dyna Flatbed 4T: an open deck that carries up to 4 tonnes, for outdoor furniture, bulky pieces and anything easier to load from the side.
As a rough guide:
| Home size | Suggested truck | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Studio or 1-room flat | Dyna Dry 5T | Usually one trip with room to spare |
| 2–3 room apartment | Dyna Dry 5T or Dyna Dry 6T | Choose the 6T for a large majlis set, several wardrobes or a full kitchen |
| Villa or large house | Dyna Dry 6T | Plan for more than one trip, or book two trucks for the same day |
| Garden, roof or yard items | Dyna Flatbed 4T | Open deck, so cover items against sun and dust |
If you are torn between two sizes, measure your largest pieces and count your cartons. When in doubt, the bigger box usually costs less than a second trip. You can compare the trucks on the vehicles page.
Loading helpers: how they work
Few people want to carry a fridge down three floors themselves. When you book a full Dyna you can add 1 to 4 loading helpers. They load and unload with the driver, and each helper has a fixed fee before VAT that is shown in the booking form as you add them.
How many helpers to choose depends on the size of the home and how easy the access is:
- Studio or small flat: 1–2 helpers.
- 2–3 room apartment: 2–3 helpers, or more if there is no lift.
- Villa: 3–4 helpers.
To be clear about what the booking covers: the truck, the driver and the helpers you add, for loading and unloading. Packing your belongings, taking furniture apart and putting it back together are yours to arrange before the truck arrives, so the team can start carrying straight away.
The quickest way to start is the home moving booking link, which opens the form with two helpers and the "Furniture & household" cargo type already selected. You can change both before you confirm.
How the moving price is worked out
A full Dyna is priced by road distance, and the booking form adds up these parts:
- Trip charge: road kilometres × 1.9 SAR per km before VAT, with a minimum fare for short trips.
- Loading helpers: the per-helper fee × the number of helpers.
- Extra stops: up to 4 extra pickups and 4 extra drop-offs at SAR 30 each before VAT. Handy if you are collecting items from a storeroom or leaving some furniture at a relative's home.
- VAT: 15% on the total.
Drop pins on the map for both addresses so the distance reflects your real route. Current truck-only prices for a typical in-city trip, VAT included:
| City | Dyna Dry 5T | Dyna Dry 6T |
|---|---|---|
| Riyadh | from SAR 288 | from SAR 322 |
| Jeddah | from SAR 288 | from SAR 322 |
Helpers and any extra stops come on top. The booking form lists each line separately, so you can see exactly what you are paying for. City details are on the Riyadh home moving page and the Jeddah home moving page.
Preparing for move day
A well-prepared move is a fast move. Work through this list in the days before:
- Book early in the day. A scheduled morning pickup means loading and unloading finish in daylight.
- Check building rules. Ask management about moving hours, lift booking and where the truck can park, at both the old and the new address.
- Take furniture apart beforehand. Beds, wardrobes and large tables move faster and more safely in pieces. Keep screws and fittings in labelled bags.
- Pack in sturdy cartons and mark each one with the room it belongs in. Wrap mirrors, glass and screens well.
- Empty and defrost the fridge the night before.
- Keep valuables with you. Jewellery, documents, cash and laptops travel in your car, not in the truck.
- Pack an essentials bag with chargers, medicines, toiletries and a change of clothes for the first night.
- Share accurate pins and a phone number that will be answered at both addresses. Use the notes field for the floor, the gate number and anything else the driver should know.
On the day, walk through every room, cupboard and balcony one last time before the truck leaves.
Moving between Riyadh and Jeddah
A move between Riyadh and Jeddah covers about 950 km of road, and it is priced exactly like an in-city move: the full road distance at 1.9 SAR per km before VAT, plus helpers, extra stops and VAT. Current truck-only prices, VAT included:
- Dyna Dry 5T: from SAR 2,216
- Dyna Dry 6T: from SAR 2,216
For a long move, say in the notes where you need helpers: at pickup, at delivery or both. After you book, an operations executive calls to confirm the details, including timing at each end, and you can follow the trip online with your booking reference. More route details are on the Riyadh to Jeddah Dyna page.
Not moving a whole home? If you are only sending a few pieces of furniture or a stack of cartons, you may not need the whole truck. A part load lets you pay for your share of a shared Dyna, up to 3,000 kg; 500 kg of dry goods from Riyadh to Jeddah currently costs from SAR 291. For a handful of boxes, parcel delivery may be simpler still.
How to book your moving Dyna
- Open the home moving booking form and choose your From and To cities. Use the same city for an in-city move.
- Choose a Dyna Dry 5T, Dyna Dry 6T or Dyna Flatbed 4T.
- Add both addresses or drop pins on the map, plus any extra stops.
- Set the number of helpers (0 to 4) and the pickup time.
- Check the price before VAT, the VAT and the final price.
- Confirm and receive your booking reference straight away.
An operations executive then calls to confirm. Pay cash to the driver or by bank transfer, and cancel free online until a driver is assigned. For more on moving with WusoolX, see the home moving page.
Frequently asked questions
Which Dyna do I need for a 3-room apartment?
A Dyna Dry 5T usually suits a lightly furnished 2–3 room apartment, while a Dyna Dry 6T gives more room for large sofa sets, several wardrobes and a full kitchen. Measure your biggest pieces and count your cartons; if you are between sizes, the bigger truck usually costs less than a second trip.
How much do loading helpers cost?
Each helper has a fixed fee before VAT, shown in the booking form when you add them. You can add 1 to 4 helpers to a full Dyna booking, and they load and unload with the driver. Helper fees appear as a separate line in the price breakdown, and 15% VAT is added to the total.
Do the helpers pack or take furniture apart?
No. Helpers load and unload with the driver. Packing, taking furniture apart and putting it back together are for you to arrange before the truck arrives.
Can I move from Riyadh to Jeddah with a Dyna?
Yes. Choose Riyadh as the From city and Jeddah as the To city. The price is based on the full road distance at 1.9 SAR per km before VAT, plus any helpers, extra stops and 15% VAT. An operations executive calls after you book to confirm the timing at both ends.
Can the Dyna stop at more than one address?
Yes. You can add up to 4 extra pickups and 4 extra drop-offs at SAR 30 each before VAT, for example to collect items from a storeroom or drop some furniture at a family member's home on the way.
